Rebecca came on board as the Summer Reading Program Director last year. This is her story.
“At the start of this year, Pam and I began talking about the summer program. We were dreaming. We said, “Why not?” When Pam incredulously declared she wanted a bus for the summer program WITH a driver. We said, “Yes!” I declared these kids needed breakfast AND lunch, and we said, “Oh Lord, please!” When we realized we needed to hire summer interns…. (gasp!) To tell you today that our wildest dreams have come true is a humbling testimony. That the God of the universe would say, “YES” to our prayers and bless us with all the finances to move into our biggest and best summer program yet is simply incredible.” There are still 2 weeks left of the Shine Summer Reading Program, but we wanted to say THANK YOU. As Rebecca put it, “thank you for every penny and every prayer.”
